Why do we keep lying to ourselves?

Get your shit together!

Hey Overthinker,

Does it feel good to lie to yourself? The probable reason why we tend to make promises bigger than we can keep is because there is no repercussions for us to break them! There is no price for us to dream and break promises that we make to ourselves, but is there a solution for the same?

THERE IS! You need to get 1 person with you who also wants to get their shit together and make a pact, which if broken the other person pays up actual cash. I know this seems transactional but trust me when money is on the line your brain wires you to get shit done!

Get Your Shit Together:

As an overthinker, you need to take care of three things, mental, emotional & physical health. This week we talk about how to manage just keep the promise that you made yourself.

How to not shit the bed and break your promise?

We humans are social animals and we need other people to survive. This is exactly how we will get our shit together. Get one of your friend to get better together!

What do you need to do?

Step 1: Find an activity that you both are interested in doing! For me it is running.

Step 2: Now, make a pact and not just any pact but a financially valid pact. Put $100 in an envelope and give it to your partner and ask them to spend it on something that they like if you break the streak. Make sure to make them do the same thing.

Step 3: Do this for 30 days and keep adding an additional task at the end of every month. You’ll realise that by the end of first three months, you will feel way different that you’ve ever felt.

I Have said this many times and I will say this again, bouncing back from relapse as quickly as you can is what consistency is.

Gamify your life, make it fun!

This is a long one, but trust me and take more than a day to listen to it. It will help yoj understand your emotions and how to manage them better!

One of the topics they touch is how we feel more when we think about a future negative than we think about future positives.

Let me know what you think of it!
